So – what IS Sounds Familiar Music Quiz?
Sounds Familiar Music Quiz is the biggest, best and most raucous music quiz in the UK.
With over 100 eclectic tracks across 8 different categories per quiz, SFMQ guarantees to ensure everyone in the team can be included, with the ethos of ‘you don’t have to know the answers to have a good time’ it really is the taking part that counts. From Wham! to Weller, Tina Turner to Tinie Tempah, Katy Perry to Tom Petty, from Bruno to Bowie – we have it all.
At the end of the night, crowds are on their feet (and in some cases the tables) dancing and belting out the tunes. We have prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last place – plus Best Team Name while the ‘Wheel of Forchooon’ bonus round keeps the momentum spinning. It’s a fun, fantastic, memorable night and it’s why people keep coming back to SFMQ over and over again. Don’t take our word for it, check out our TESTIMONIAL page to read reviews from our happy customers.
Hmmm – that sounds awesome…tell me more!
OK, we shall. SFMQ was created by DJ Al Scott who came up with the idea of revolutionising the music round from the usual pub quiz format and turning that section into a full on night out and a raucous party. With a bit of tweaking here and there and with a growing team of comperes, DJs, helpers, photographers/videographers SFMQ has developed into a full-time business and continues to be one of London’s most popular events on the alternative nightlife scene.
Our quizzes change each month and we also create themed events such as our popular School Reunion Specials, St Patrick’s Day Party and Power Ballad Blow Out. We are regularly booked for corporate events, work shindigs, wedding receptions, private parties and festivals. We have performed to small sets of 20 and gargantuan groups of 2000 at Glastonbury. We can even help to find venues for your booking and will bring our own PAT tested sound system if required. We’ll also stick around to DJ after the event too.
In 2017, Sounds Familiar Music Quiz performed to over 15,000 people at residencies, corporate gigs and festivals. 2018 will see SFMQ open in even more cities in the UK and the crew look forward to bringing the Sounds Familiar fun to more people. Come and see us soon.
